Answering Your Questions:

1. Are beer and wine coolers less dangerous than other kinds of alcohol?
A 12-ounce can of beer, a 5-ounce glass of wine, a 12-ounce wine cooler, and 1 ½ ounces of liquor contain the same amount of alcohol. Wine coolers often taste fruity and people tend to drink more because they don’t have a bad strong taste. Many times, people drink a lot before they start to feel the effects and have already started participating in risky behavior such as driving or swimming. Remember, it takes your body time to process alcohol, that is why people often describe their experience of feeling drunk like, “It just hit me!”

2. Why can’t I drink as much as my boyfriend?

Because females tend to process alcohol more slowly, the alcohol stays in your system longer, making it easier for women to become intoxicated from far less alcohol. Remember, weight also has a factor in blood alcohol content. A women weighing 120 will have a BAC of approx. .02 after only one drink and remain with that level for up to one hour. .02……….just to remind you it is considered driving under the influence for drivers under the age of 21!!!!! Yikes!!!!!

3. I’ve heard a lot about date date rape. Can you be raped by your boyfriend?
Most definitely!! If anyone, including your partner, forces sex on you after you say NO, it’s rape. There is double danger if using drugs and drinking…….being under the influence clouds your judgment but often teens change their minds and try to stop their partner and are forced because they are told they are “teasing and it’s their own fault.” this is so not true!!!!! Everyone has the right to change their mind, girls and boys alike. Some drugs, like the commonly called date rape drug, ecstasy, mixed with alcohol, can lead to a person passing out to the point they have no idea what is happening to them. BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN ACCEPTING EVEN A SOFT DRINK FROM ANYONE IN AN UNFAMILIAR PLACE.

4. How have you dealt with a drunken friend?

Answer One: I talked them through it, held their hair when they were sick, made sure they stayed breathing and comfortable;

5. What is your experience with drugs and how have you helped someone who has or is on drugs?
